CULT NOT CLASSIC: SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE – STEVIE WONDER

Dopo qualche settimana di latitanza [cit…] eccomi di nuovo fra voi a raccontarvi un cult.
In queste giornate fredde e piovose, per sfuggire alla depressione,  vi consiglio un vellutato capolavoro soul : Songs in the key of life di Stevie Wonder.

Nel 1976, dopo un periodo di meditazione, il poliedrico musicista, compositore e autore americano sforna un vero e proprio capolavoro: 21 canzoni divise in due volumi (I e II), che colpiscono direttamente l’anima.
La voce di Stevie è limpida e cristallina ed è dominata da una tecnica vocale incredibile. Nonostante i vibrati e i complicati giochi di voce, resta sempre così opportuno e perfetto, mai eccessivo.
Ma non è solo la sua voce straordinaria a rendere questo disco un capolavoro: è il combinarsi di diversi talenti: quello di musicista (tastiere, batteria, bass keyboards, armonica ), di autore ( Wonder non è solo un banale poeta d’amore, ma spazia oltre, nell’intimità, nella introspezione, nell’attualità) e poi ovviamente quello di performer.
E’ un lavoro  che va dal soul più profondo e autentico al più movimentato funky- dance.
Stevie Wonder con questo album diventa definitivamente un punto fermo e ispirazione per il pop futuro.
Songs in the key of life: inimitabile e unica perla della musica dell’anima.

Vorrei solo riuscire a dimenticare le penose cover da karaoke di queste canzoni…

After a few weeks absconding [cited ...] I’m back among you to tell a cult.
In these cold and rainy days, in order to escape depression, I recommend a velvet soul masterpiece: Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder.

In 1976, after a period of meditation, the multifaceted american musician, composer and author produces a true  masterpiece: 21 songs divided into two volumes (I and II), which directly affect the soul.
Stevie’s voice is crystal clear and is dominated by an amazing vocal technique. Despite the complicated games and vibrato voice he is always so appropriate and perfect, never excessive.
But it’s not only his extraordinary voice that makes this album a masterpiece: it is the combination of different talents as a musician (keyboards, drums, keyboards, bass, harmonica),  as author (Wonder is not just an ordinary poet of love, but goes beyond, in private, in introspection, in current) and then of course as a performer.
It ‘a work that goes from the deepest real soul to the exciting funky- dance.
Stevie Wonder with this album it is definitely a milestone and inspiration for the future of pop.
Songs in the Key of Life: pearl of the inimitable and unique music of the soul.

I just want to be able to forget the painful karaoke cover of these songs …
